Zinc Chloride
Product Overview:
CAS #: 7646-85-7
Zinc chloride is a versatile zinc compound used across wood treatment, metal finishing, textile, and upstream oilfield applications. It is commonly employed in wood preservative treatments, providing both insecticidal protection and fire retardant properties that reduce flammability in treated lumber. Additionally, it serves as a soldering flux and galvanizing agent in metal finishing, cleaning metal surfaces and promoting proper bonding during welding and coating processes. Zinc chloride is also utilized in textile dyeing and finishing processes as a mordant that improves dye fixation. Furthermore, it finds applications as an additive in oil and gas well completion fluids to control brine density.
