Sodium Hydroxide 99% (Prills, Beads, Flakes)
Product Overview:
CAS #: 1310-73-2
Sodium hydroxide, commonly known as caustic soda, is one of the most widely used industrial alkalis, available in prill, bead, and flake forms. It is commonly employed in pulp and paper processing to break down lignin and separate cellulose fibers during manufacturing. Additionally, it serves as a key raw material in soap and detergent manufacturing, where it drives the saponification reaction that produces soap from fats and oils. Sodium hydroxide is also utilized for pH adjustment in industrial water treatment, food processing applications such as lye treatment, metal cleaning, and textile mercerizing to improve fiber strength and dye uptake. Furthermore, it finds applications in general chemical manufacturing processes requiring a strong base.
