Potassium Silicate Powder
Product Overview:
Potassium silicate powder is an inorganic compound. It is widely used in agriculture as a foliar fertilizer and soil amendment, supplying both potassium and silicon to crops. Silicon strengthens plant cell walls, improves resistance to fungal diseases and insect pressure, and enhances tolerance to drought and heavy metal stress, making potassium silicate particularly valued in rice, sugarcane, turf, and high-value horticulture programs. In the construction and coatings industry, potassium silicate is used as a binder in inorganic mineral paints and silicate coatings applied to concrete, masonry, and stone facades, where it reacts chemically with the substrate to form an extremely durable, weather-resistant, and breathable film. It is also used as a concrete hardener and densifier, penetrating the surface to react with free lime and increase surface hardness and abrasion resistance. In industrial applications, potassium silicate serves as a binder in refractory cements and high-temperature coatings, as a welding rod flux coating binder, and as a fire retardant additive in wood treatment and textile finishing.
