Formic Acid 85%
Product Overview:
CAS #: 64-18-6
Formic acid at 85% concentration is a strong organic acid used across animal feed, leather, and industrial applications. It is commonly employed as a silage preservative and acidifier in animal feed, lowering pH to inhibit unwanted fermentation and preserve nutrient content in stored forage. Additionally, it serves as a dyeing and tanning auxiliary in leather and textile processing, adjusting pH during dyeing and helping fix dyes to the fiber or hide. Formic acid is also utilized as a coagulant in rubber and latex manufacturing, as well as a descaling agent in industrial cleaning applications. Furthermore, it finds applications in general chemical manufacturing processes requiring a strong, biodegradable organic acid.
