Dodecyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid (DDBSA)

Product Overview:

Identification of the substance: dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid

CAS #: 27176-87-0

Dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid (DDBSA) is a widely used anionic surfactant precursor in detergent and industrial chemical manufacturing. It is commonly employed as a key raw material for the production of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) surfactants used in household and industrial detergent formulations. Additionally, it serves as an emulsifier in agrochemical formulations, helping disperse active ingredients uniformly in spray solutions. DDBSA is also utilized as a surfactant additive in upstream oilfield chemical treatment programs, improving wetting and emulsion properties in production fluids. Furthermore, it finds applications in general chemical manufacturing processes requiring a strong anionic surfactant.
