Additionally, it serves as an etching and frosting agent for glass surfaces in decorative and industrial glass manufacturing. Hydrofluoric acid is also utilized in semiconductor manufacturing for wafer cleaning and oxide layer etching. Furthermore, it finds applications in petroleum refining as an alkylation catalyst in downstream operations that produce high-octane gasoline components.
